Qualifications

• Associates from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred)
• ARRT certification and Registration in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• State Licensure (preferred)
• BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for some Mercy Health locations)
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred)
• Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and ensures information is documented for licensed practitioner
• Positions and immobilizes patient to best demonstrate area of interest
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Performs radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories
• Verifies informed consent and completes pre/post procedure documentation
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures; aseptic technique
• Performs timeout as required by policy
• Identifies, prepares and administers medications/contrast as prescribed
