Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for Massena Hospital. Per diem schedule, days/evenings, 8‑hour shifts, with weekend coverage as needed.

Performs diagnostic radiology, CT and mammography procedures, assisting radiologists and ensuring safety and quality standards in a busy imaging department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program and NYS license or permit with 6 months to licensure.
• ARRT certification if licensed after 2007 within 1 year of hire; BLS within 3 months.
• Experience with CT and mammography preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs Radiology, CT, and mammography/bone density procedures per standards.

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - Multi ModalStatus: Per Diem

Department: Medical Imaging

Location: Massena Hospital - 1 Hospital Drive Massena, NY 13662

Schedule: Days/Evenings, M-F, 8 hr variable shifts, weekends as needed

SUMMARY

Performs diagnostic radiological procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by the radiologist, governing and professional bodies. Assists radiologist in fluoroscopy and special procedure examinations. Performs administrative duties as set forth by policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs Radiology, CT's and/or mammography/bone density procedures utilizing the principles and knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and Radiologic techniques.


• Assists radiologist in the performance of Radiology interventional procedures and provides appropriate images for interpretation.


• Follows all regulatory and organizational guidelines for patient/staff screening and Radiology safety and provides Radiologic safety education to anyone who may have contact with Radiologic equipment.


• Follows organizational standards to include but not limited to patient identification, patient education, consents, and order verification and infection control.


• Participates in all QA/QC procedures as designated and maintains standards of these programs.


• This includes processes involving Radiologic equipment, image quality, documentation and Radiologic safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology programNYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.


• If licensed after 2007 must obtain American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire.


• Must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 or more years of experience in CT and/or Mammography.


• Registered in CT and/or Mammography with the ARRT.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision‑making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask‑fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE

PAY RANGE: $34.02 - $49.47 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
