Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures and assist radiologists, ensuring high-quality images while maximizing patient comfort and safety. The role supports unsupervised shifts with on-call coverage and requires strong documentation skills.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS license or permit with licensure within six months, ARRT certification within one year, and preferably prior radiologic technologist experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years college certificate or equivalent.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• ARRT certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Radiography of patients in all assigned areas.
• Ensure timely and proper service during unsupervised shifts.
• Document exams and procedures in RIS/PACS and inpatient charts.
• Clean, restock, and prepare rooms daily.
• Attend meetings and in-services.
• Provide on-call coverage for the Diagnostic Section of Radiology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

STATUS: Per Diem

LOCATION: Imaging Center - Imaging POB 1561 Long Pond Road, Suite 113, Rochester NY 14626

DEPARTMENT: Diagnostic Imaging

SCHEDULE: As Needed Mon-Fri; 8 am - 4:30 pm; occasional Saturdays

SUMMARY

Performs and assists radiologists in performing radiographic procedures, obtaining films of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for radiography of patients in all assigned areas.
• Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts.
• Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS and inpatient charts as necessary.
• Cleans, restocks, and prepares rooms on a daily basis.
• Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
• Practices and is held accountable for excellent customer service behaviors.
• Provide on-call coverage for the Diagnostic Section of Radiology.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years college certificate or equivalent.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
