Job summary

Ochsner is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine radiographic procedures in accordance with established safety protocols. The role includes mentoring junior staff and students, maintaining quality control, and supporting departmental operations across facilities.

Candidates should have completed an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT certification or registry eligibility, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in computers, software and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication and the ability to present information clearly.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekends, holidays, on call) and travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure accuracy.
• Operates radiology equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Maintains quality control procedures and complies with regulatory standards.
• Supports departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
