Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans seeks a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and perform radiographic procedures per safety protocols. You will explain procedures to patients and operate equipment to produce diagnostic images in a fast paced, patient-centered setting.

You will mentor junior staff, maintain quality controls, and adapt to a 24/7 schedule with travel between facilities. Required ARRT (or eligible), valid state license, BLS, and completion of an approved radiologic technology

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or eligibility within 90 days of employment.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Operates radiology equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures understanding.
• Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality and performs QC tasks.
• Assists in departmental operations including inventory and scheduling.
• Adapts communication to patient population while protecting privacy.
