Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and perform routine radiographic procedures in a clinical setting. You will mentor junior staff and students, ensure safety protocols, and demonstrate strong computer and patient-communication skills.

The role requires ARRT certification or registry eligibility, current state licensure, and BLS. Flexibility for on-call and travel to facilities is expected as part of a patient-centered care team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days of employment or registry-eligible.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment independently according to protocol (may include NG tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and contrast).
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Performs timely quality control procedures and remediation as needed.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication to patient population and obtains permissions as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.
