Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our Hamden facility. The role spans clinical radiology, patient care, and administrative duties, with a focus on safety, procedure accuracy, and respectful patient interaction.

Qualified candidates will have ARRT certification and state licensure in Radiography, plus a Radiologic Technologist program graduate. High school diploma or GED preferred; Medical Assistant program completion is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• State licensure in Radiography and ARRT certification required.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Medical Assistant program completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic x-rays as ordered.
• Explain procedures clearly and ensure patient safety.
• Operate and maintain radiology equipment.
• Position and shield patients appropriately.
• Store and manage radiographic images per protocol.
• Greet and assist patients and visitors professionally.
• Answer phones, direct calls, and manage messages.
• Maintain and update patient records.
• Handle correspondence, insurance, billing, and scanning.
• Support front office during busy periods.
• Comply with HIPAA and OSHA standards.
• Obtain clinical information and vital signs.
• Assist with exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Perform diagnostic tests, draw blood, and process specimens.
