Job summary

PhyicianOne Urgent Care in Hamden, CT is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to support providers and staff in diagnostic imaging and patient care. The role covers clinical, radiologic, and administrative duties in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Responsibilities include performing X-rays, maintaining patient safety, operating radiology equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation while complying with HIPAA and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• State licensure in Radiography and ARRT certification required.
• Medical Assistant program completion preferred.

• Position and shield patients appropriately.
• Store and manage radiographic images per protocol.

• Handle correspondence, insurance, billing, and scanning.
• Support front office during busy periods.
• Comply with HIPAA and OSHA standards.
• Obtain clinical information and vital signs.
• Assist with exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Perform diagnostic tests, draw blood, and process specimens.
• Maintain emergency equipment and stock supplies.
• Provide discharge instructions and support clinic flow.

Radiologic Technologist Role

The Radiologic Technologist assists Providers and clinical staff in the examination and treatment of patients, following Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care standards. This role includes clinical, radiologic, and administrative responsibilities.

Essential Duties:

Radiologic Technologist

• Perform diagnostic x-rays as ordered.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort; explain procedures clearly.
• Operate and maintain radiology equipment.
• Position and shield patients appropriately.
• Store and manage radiographic images per protocol.

Administrative

• Greet and assist patients and visitors professionally.

Position Type/Expected Hours:

• Variable hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
