Shift: FT 40 hours per week, afternoon shift 3pm-11:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation
Responsibilities
- Delivers quality patient care, adhering to universal precautions, sterile techniques, and maintaining patient confidentiality and medical ethics.
- Produces high-quality radiographs by selecting appropriate technical factors, positioning patients correctly, and operating equipment properly, including portable radiographs in various hospital units.
- Represents the hospital positively both within and outside the work area, promoting good guest relations and the image of the Radiology department and Genesys Regional Medical Center.
- Ensures proper patient identification and radiograph labeling, and accurately enters procedures into hospital information systems.
- Maintains radiation safety by using shielding and protection devices to minimize exposure.
- Keeps current with developments in radiology through ongoing education and training.
- Assists in training radiology students and new staff, serving as a technical resource for residents and radiologists.
- Exercises independent judgment in the absence of management and reports equipment issues promptly.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas and supplies.
- Performs clerical duties and assists with patient transportation as needed.

- Good guest relations, communication skills, tact, diplomacy, and dependability.
- Discretion, confidentiality, and physical and mental capability to perform duties.
- Neat personal appearance and adherence to dress code.
Essential Functions
- Mobility, manual dexterity, and ability to assist, move, transfer, and lift patients.
- Ability to operate radiological equipment and communicate effectively.
- Ability to plan, follow instructions, problem-solve, teach, and learn hospital systems.
Working Conditions
Involves patient support activities, standing and walking for most of the day, exposure to electrical and radiant hazards, and communicable diseases. Hospital-wide setting.
Orientation Requirements
Participation in new employee and department orientations is required.
Education/Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited 2-year radiology program. Experience preferred but not required.
Certification/Licenses Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 3 months of hire. Radiologic Technologist certification from ARRT or ARCRT within 6 months of hire. Renewal is required.
