Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Up to $7,500 Sign-on Bonus

Shift: FT 40 hours per week, afternoon shift 3p-11:30p

Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation. Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining and operating cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  2. Positioning patients and selecting anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  3. Ordering, preparing, administering, and disposing of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  4. Following radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  5. Ensuring prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  6. Ensuring equipment is properly functioning and reporting potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  7. Assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly department.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
