Job summary

Ochsner in Louisiana is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine radiographic procedures in accordance with safety protocols. You will serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students and ensure imaging meets diagnostic quality standards.

Required: completion of an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT certification or registry eligible with license within 90 days, current BLS, and ability to work a flexible schedule across facilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible within 90 days of employment and temporary state license.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Performs quality control procedures in line with regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to respect patient privacy and diverse populations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
