Job summary

Summit Health in Connecticut seeks a licensed Radiologic Technologist to perform radiologic exams with a focus on patient safety and quality imaging. The role requires ARRT certification and state licensure, with cross-training across modalities as needed.

The candidate will follow protocols, maintain patient records, and collaborate with radiologists and staff to deliver accurate, timely imaging in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Connecticut State Radiology License and ARRT Certification.

Responsibilities

• Follow physicians’ orders and radiology protocols to protect staff and patients from unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Assist patients onto the exam table, ensure proper immobilization, and perform radiologic exams.
• Verify patient identification and route images to PACS; provide required information to Virtual Radiologic when indicated.
• Maintain demographic information and daily patient logs for imaging studies.
• Operate radiology equipment (including fluoroscopy) to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
• Gather essential information from patients and records for clinical correlation.
• Monitor patient status and report changes to the appropriate team member.
• Educate patients about procedures and ensure safe, respectful care.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and calibration; adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
• Cross-train to support modalities as department needs evolve.
