Advocate Health Care is offering a casual part-time Radiologic Technologist extern opportunity designed to fit around your school and clinical schedule. The role provides hands-on imaging experience and collaboration with experienced radiologic technologists in a busy imaging department.

No prior experience is required; enrollment in a radiology program and ARRT/ARRT-related certification steps are noted, with licensure deadlines after graduation.

Qualifikationen

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• IL hires must be students from an accredited radiology program and in 2nd year of clinical training.

Aufgaben

• Supports imaging technologists with preparation of patient and examination room prior to, during, and following imaging procedures in accordance with infection control practices.
• Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, and maintaining equipment.
• Verifies patient identification and explains procedures, obtains clinical history, confirms understanding and answers questions.
• Assists patient in preparation for exam and transferring patients to/from exam rooms.
• Transports patients to other areas of the facility as required.
• Uses radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain pertinent patient information.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors following safety practices under supervision of a licensed radiographer.
• Ensures images and records are documented in SmartChart, RIS and PACS in a timely manner.
