Job summary

Texas Health Plano seeks a Radiographer (RAD Tech) for full-time day shifts at 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093. You will perform radiologic exams, position patients, and assist radiologists while maintaining high image quality and sterile technique.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited radiologic program, ARRT and TDH/TMB licensure at hire, BCLS, and 1 year of experience preferred; Associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required at hire.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• 1 year radiologic technologist experience preferred.
• TDH or TMB licensure required upon hire (General Medical Radiologic Technologist).
• ARRT certification required upon hire.
• BCLS certification required prior to providing independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patient or guardian prior to exam.
• Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest.
• Perform complex procedures with age-related criteria.
• Adjust technique parameters for age-related factors.
• Assist radiologist with complex procedures using aseptic technique.
• Process and manipulate images; ensure image quality and transfer images to PACS.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Associate's Degree preferred

1 Year radiologic technologist experience preferred

GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist license

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Work hours: Full Time, 32 Hours; Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am - 9:30p and Monday 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Here’s What You Need

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology upon hire required or
• Associate's Degree preferred
• 1 Year radiologic technologist experience preferred
• GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB upon hire required and
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

What You Will Do

• Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to exam
• Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest
• Perform complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations
• Adjust technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
• Assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
• Maintain attention to details
• Process and manipulate images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed
• Utilize proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS / RIS
• Correctly send and transfer images to PACS
• Print laser images from modality or PACS
• Coordinate with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities
