Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Vascular/Cardiac Sonographer for PRN Day shifts at our Plano campus. The role involves performing echocardiographic and vascular studies, ensuring IAC-compliant imaging, and assisting in patient care with a focus on quality and safety.

Requires HS Diploma, ultrasound degree, and either RCS/RDCS/RVT/RVS credentials on hire or upon hire. BCLS is required prior to independent patient care; prior cardiac experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Associate degree in Ultrasound Technology preferred.
• 1 year prior sonography experience preferred.
• Cardiac imaging experience is highly preferred.
• RCS, RDCS, RVT or RVS credentials required at hire (one of the four).
• BCLS certification required prior to providing independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients or guardians prior to exams.
• Perform complex vascular and cardiac studies following policies and IAC standards.
• Adjust technique parameters for age-related factors as needed.
• Produce quality Echocardiogram, Stress Echocardiogram, TEE and vascular studies per department policies.

LOCATION

Texas Health Plano is located at 6200 W Parker Rd, Plano, TX 75093

SCHEDULE

PRN Days. Hours would be 8:30-5 if during week and 7-1 if on weekend. One week of call per month, must respond within one hour.

This Is What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
• Associate degree from accredited school of Ultrasound Technology preferred
• 1 year prior experience preferred
• Cardiac experience highly preferred
• RCS – Registered Cardiac Sonographer upon hire required OR
• RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer upon hire required OR
• RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist upon hire required OR
• RVS – Registered Vascular Specialist upon hire required AND
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.

• Explains procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to exam
• Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.
• Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factor.
• Produces quality Echocardiogram, Stress Echocardiogram, Transesophageal Echocardiogram, and/or Vascular studies following department policies and procedures, as well as IAC standards
