Job summary

Ochsner Health is hiring a Radiation Therapist to administer therapy per physician prescription and maintain accurate treatment records. The role involves coordinating with the Radiation Oncologist, patient, and family, and monitoring for adverse reactions.

Strong documentation and QA duties are expected in a fast-paced oncology setting. The position requires ARRT certification, state licensure within 90 days, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Proficient data entry and use of Windows-based software.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and care teams.
• Knowledge of radiation therapy concepts and equipment care.
• Ability to chart accurately and document treatment data.
• Experience with patient immobilization devices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy per prescription.
• Document port films and treatment charts.
• Arrange simulations and field changes as needed.
• Maintain daily treatment schedule and QA checks.
• Submit billing and manage treatment documentation daily.
• Adapt to scheduling and staffing needs as required.
