Job summary

UCI Health seeks an experienced Radiation Therapist to perform daily treatments in the radiation oncology department, manage patient scheduling, and document treatment processes. Responsibilities include operating linear accelerators and simulators, taking port films, reviewing plans with physicians, and ensuring accurate billing.

The role requires ARRT/CRT certification and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess ARRT/CRT in Radiation Therapy.
• Proven ability to safely and accurately operate radiation therapy equipment, linear accelerators, simulators and computers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work on-call rotation and variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of radiation oncology procedures, physics, radiobiology and dosimetry.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to maintain flexibility in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily patient treatments and procedures in the linear accelerator, NOMOS, and simulator rooms.
• Daily scheduling of patients to ensure efficient use of available time slots.
• Schedule and take port films on all patients; review results with physicians.
• Document findings and make necessary corrections; review treatment plan and dosimetry before first treatment.
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, automatic film processors, and QC equipment.
• Document daily patient treatment and accurate billing; notify physicians of concerns during treatment.
• Notify physicist of equipment problems; maintain films and medical records.
