Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks a Radiation Officer & Safety Manager to lead the Health & Safety and Radiation Safety programs across offices and sites. You will prepare hazard analyses, train staff, and conduct site visits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

The role requires extensive experience in safety program implementation, incident investigations, and regulatory enforcement within construction-related environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved Radiation Safety course, USDOT Hazardous Materials Transportation course and 8-Hour Radiation Safety Officer training.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer with duties including safety program implementation and enforcement, incident documentation and investigation, personnel training, and documentation.
• 5-7 years of experience in a construction-related environment, and other ECS scope of services.
• 7+ years as Authorized User of portable moisture density gauges in a construction environment; 5+ years as RSO with a licensee of such gauges.
• Experience with Regulatory enforcement, contest processes and procedures, organizational development techniques, and Behavior Based Safety Programs.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Health & Safety and Radiation Safety Programs.
• Prepare Activity Hazard Analyses and training classes.
• Conduct site visits to offices and project sites to monitor ECS H&S implementation.
• Participate in safety audits and Behavior Based Safety Observations.
• Review incident investigations and conduct deeper investigations when needed.
• Attend OSHA hearings and advise on processes to limit losses.
• Develop proactive safety and radiation safety outreach for clients and partners.
• Ensure alignment of safety goals with ECS Corporate Safety Program.
• Maintain updates on serious incidents requiring medical treatment beyond first aid.
