Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our Peoria, IL team. The role provides medical physics support across external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT, with a strong emphasis on safety and collaboration with physicians, dosimetrists, and therapists.

The successful candidate will hold ABR certification and an IEMA license, have experience in medical physics, and contribute to QA programs, policies and safety initiatives within a dynamic clinical

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or related field required.
• ABR certification in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics required.
• IEMA license in Radiation Therapy required.
• Experience in medical physics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for radiation oncology services (EBRT, brachytherapy, SRS, SBRT).
• Oversee QA testing, commissioning, calibration and ongoing quality assurance.
• Develop and maintain departmental physics policies and procedures.
• Serve as Radiation Safety Officer and manage shielding and inventory.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize planning and delivery.
• Participate in quality improvement, radiation safety meetings and staff education.
