Job summary

Carle Health in Peoria, IL seeks a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our team, providing comprehensive medical physics support across EBRT, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and staff to assure optimal treatment planning and delivery.

Candidates must hold ABR certification and a state license (IEMA) with a Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field is required.
• Certified Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics (ABR) is required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for radiation oncology services (external beam, brachytherapy, SRS, SBRT).
• Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration and QA programs.
• Develop and maintain departmental physics policies and QA procedures.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
