Job summary

Carle Health in Peoria, IL is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to provide comprehensive medical physics support across external beam, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT. You will oversee QA, safety programs and policy development while collaborating closely with clinicians and staff.

The role includes leadership as Radiation Safety Officer, education of the team, and opportunities to contribute to project development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field required.
• ABR certification in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.
• Oversee acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration and QA programs.
• Develop and maintain departmental physics policies and procedures.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists on treatment planning and delivery.
• Lead education, orientation and technical instruction for staff and students.
• Support clinical innovation, projects and program development within radiation oncology.

Education

Master's degree or PhD in Physics or related field
