Job summary

Carle Health seeks a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to join our Peoria, IL team. The role provides medical physics support across external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT, in a physician-partnered environment.

You will oversee QA programs, lead radiation safety activities as the Radiation Safety Officer, and collaborate with dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning. Partial remote work may be considered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field.
• ABR certification as Specialist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT.
• Oversee equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration and QA programs.
• Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer and lead radiation safety activities.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education and program development.

Education
