Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist in Peoria, IL to provide comprehensive medical physics support across external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians and staff to ensure accurate treatment planning and delivery.

Candidates must hold a Master’s or PhD in Physics (or related field), be ABR-certified and licensed as Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or a related field.
• ABR certification is required.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist – Radiation Therapy (IEMA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive medical physics support for radiation oncology services including external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.
• Oversees equipment acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, and QA program implementation.
• Leads radiation safety, shielding and inventory management; serves as Department Radiation Safety Officer.
• Collaborates with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
• Participates in quality improvement, radiation safety meetings and staff education.
