Job summary

Carle Health in Peoria, IL seeks a full-time Radiation Oncology physicist to provide comprehensive medical physics support for advanced radiation therapies. You will oversee QA, regulatory compliance, and safety programs while collaborating with medical staff to optimize treatment planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or related field.
• ABR certification is required.
• IEMA license is required.
• Experience in medical physics or a clinical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical physics support for external beam, brachytherapy, SRS and SBRT.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations (IEMA, NRC, ACR, DNV).
• Oversee equipment acceptance, commissioning, calibration and QA programs.
• Lead radiation safety activities and inventory management as Department Radiation Safety Officer.
• Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists and therapists to optimize treatment planning.
• Participate in quality improvement, safety meetings and staff education.
• Support clinical projects and program development; mentor staff and students.
• Consider partial remote work for eligible candidates within driving distance.
