Job summary
Carle Health in Peoria, IL seeks a full-time Radiation Oncology Physicist to provide comprehensive medical physics support for EBRT, brachytherapy, SRS, and SBRT. You will ensure QA, regulatory compliance, and safety while collaborating with clinicians to optimize treatment planning and delivery.
The role includes leadership in radiation safety, policy development, and staff education, with opportunities for innovation and program development.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Physics or related field.
- ABR Certification and IEMA license required.
- Experience in medical physics or a clinical setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical physics support for radiation oncology services (EBRT, brachytherapy, SRS, SBRT).
- Oversee equipment acceptance testing, calibration, and ongoing QA.
- Develop, implement, and maintain departmental physics policies and QA programs.
- Serve as Department Radiation Safety Officer.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists for optimal treatment planning and delivery.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and radiation safety meetings.
- Educate staff and students through orientation and instruction.
- Support innovation, clinical projects, and program development within radiation oncology.
