Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks a Systems Engineer to join a radar system development team. You will create requirements specifications, test procedures, and test reports while working in a matrixed organization across multiple programs. Occasional travel to customer and subcontractor sites is expected.

A strong background in traditional systems engineering and technical leadership is required, with DoD program exposure and MBSE tool familiarity highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 5+ years of experience or an MS with 3+ years.
• Experience in deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
• Experience in developing and executing system and sub-system verification activities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven communication skills within a team environment.
• Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL area.
• Possess a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems engineering artifacts (requirements specs, test procedures, test reports).
• Lead or contribute to verification activities for complex radar and related subsystems.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a matrixed program environment.
• Travel to customer and subcontractor sites ~10% of time.
