Job summary

Protora is seeking a mid-level RF Hardware Engineer to design, build and test radar hardware at the heart of our systems. You will own end-to-end work packages—from block diagrams to bring-up and field test—with guidance from senior staff and in coordination with antenna, signal processing, and systems teams.

You will contribute to RF design, simulations, and testing while documenting results and supporting production readiness.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
• 4–7 years of RF/microwave hardware design, build and test experience.
• Strong RF fundamentals and radar theory knowledge.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a lean, cross-functional team.
• Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for analysis.
• Experience with RF design tools and OrCAD.
• U.S. person status and ability to obtain DoD clearance.
• Willingness to work outdoors and lift equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and test RF receiver, exciter and transmitter subsystems.
• Perform RF cascade analysis and allocate requirements to hardware specs.
• Simulate RF circuits and validate against measurements.
• Collaborate with antenna, signal processing and systems engineers.
• Lead hardware bring-up, debug and field testing; analyze data.
• Support EMI/EMC qualification and transition designs to production.
• Author hardware specs, design docs, test plans and reports.
• Present results at reviews and customer exchanges.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
