Job summary

Protora is seeking a mid-level RF Hardware Engineer to design, build and test RF hardware at the heart of our radar systems. You will own end-to-end work packages, from schematic capture to bring-up and field test, collaborating with antenna, signal processing, software, and systems teams to meet performance goals.

The role requires 4–7 years of RF/microwave hardware experience, strong RF fundamentals, MATLAB/Python skills, and readiness for lab and outdoor testing, with U.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 4–7 years of RF/microwave hardware design, build and test experience.
• Solid RF fundamentals, impedance matching, noise figure and phase noise.
• U.S. person status and ability to obtain DoD clearance.
• Willingness to work across lab, field test, and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and test RF receiver, exciter and transmitter subsystems from block diagrams to bring-up.
• Perform RF cascade analysis and allocate system requirements to hardware specs.
• Simulate RF circuits and validate models against measured data.
• Lead hardware bring-up, debugging and field testing activities.
• Document hardware specifications, test plans and procedures; present results in reviews.
