Job summary

Trinchero Family Estates in Lodi, CA is seeking a winery team member to assist with routine winemaking tasks under supervision from Winemaking management. The role involves safe work practices, sanitation, and collaboration with cellar staff across departments.

The position requires physical work, adherence to GMP standards, and ability to operate winery equipment. Training and a comprehensive benefits package are provided. Shift flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous harvest/winery experience required.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word/Excel) and ability to write basic reports.
  • Proficient math, reading, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support safe workplace and ensure team safety and PPE compliance.
  • Maintain high cleanliness, GMP, and sanitation standards in the work area.
  • Communicate and collaborate with cellar staff and other departments.
  • Complete cellar sanitation and maintenance documentation.
  • Perform safety and quality audits as needed.
  • Assist in transferring, racking, or blending wines and juices.
  • Assist in filtration of wines and juices and barrel-related activities.
  • Operate winery process machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Use forklift to move equipment, chemicals, and ingredients as needed.

Job Summary

To assist with or accurately perform any routine winemaking tasks as delegated by and in accordance with the verbal or written direction of the Winemaking management staff.

Location: Lodi, California (US-CA)

Essential Functions
  • Support attaining a safe workplace and ensuring team members work safe and meet all safety standards for procedures and protective equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining high cleanliness, GMP and sanitation standards in work area
  • Show initiative when working and assisting others .
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with the cellar staff and other departments such as lab, winemaking, bottling, EH&S, and maintenance.
  • Complete cellar sanitation and maintenance documentation
  • Perform safety and quality audits on a needed basis
  • Identify and report equipment and safety issues and violations to cellar leadership .
  • Assist in the transfer, racking or blending of wines and juices.
  • Assist in the filtration of wines and juices.
  • Clean and/or sterilize tanks, hoses, pumps, and other related winemaking equipment.
  • Assist in the treatment of wines and juices with fining agents and/or cellar chemicals as directed
  • Assist in the preparation of cellar chemicals and ingredients.
  • Use forklift to move equipment and chemicals and ingredients as needed.
  • Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including the Food Safety & Quality Policy.
  • Food Safety Responsibility: Report problems with the food safety management system to supervisor.
  • Familiarity with ISO Quality Systems.
Where Barreling Operations Exist
  • Barrel related activities: moving barrels, filling, emptying, topping, additions.
  • Help clean and maintain wood barrels and tanks.
Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Experience: Previous harvest/winery experience required
  • Effective observation, and written/verbal communication
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow through with assignments and projects
  • Ability to accurately carry out written and verbal instructions

  • Ability to respond to frequently changing production pressures

Working Conditions
  • Moderate to heavy physical work
  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Must comply with all safety procedures and equipment requirements including respirator, ear plugs and safety glasses
  • Exposure to various chemicals in production areas
  • Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
  • This position requires flexibility in working rotating shifts, including day, evening, and nigh shifts, as well as weekends
  • Exposure to high and low temperatures and weather conditions
  • Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds

Salary Range: $20.65 - $25.20

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
