Description
General Definition: Provide support for the safety initiatives of Remington Park and assist in administrative duties in maintaining compliance with federal regulation. This position will act as an assistant to the Safety Director (Racing).
Supervision Received: Safety Director (Racing)

Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares documents and reports regarding monthly, quarterly, and/or annually for operational matters as directed, distributing in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assists horsemen in HISA registration and navigating the HISA portal.
- Uploads track measurements in the Maintenance Quality System database.
- Composes correspondence, rulings, e-mails, reports, and miscellaneous documents using Microsoft Office, Race Track Manager software, and the HISA Portal.
- Assists in maintaining various spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Proofreads and makes copies of documents.
- Assists in the planning and oversight of significant events and meetings.
- Responsible for keeping minutes for meetings.
- Uploads work orders into the Stream It database.
- Assists in inspections when necessary.
- Organizes assignments in order to maintain the greatest efficiency in the completion of assignments.
- Preserves confidentiality of files and information.
- Maintains both physical and digital files in an up-to-date, neat, orderly and easily accessible manner.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to learn Remington Park, OHRC, and HISA policies and procedures.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
- Skill in data entry with minimal errors and ability to review work for accuracy.
- Operational Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Demonstrated ability on completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule including weekends and Holidays.
- Skill in dealing with the horsemen and general public in various and sometimes difficult situations while maintaining courtesy and diplomacy.
- Excellent time management skills required.
Training and Experience:
- 2 years’ clerical/administrative experience
- 1+ years’ experience in a horse racing operation preferred
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license from the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
