Job summary

Mainspring seeks an open-minded,R&D Test Engineer to design and execute tests on the Linear Generator, improving product capabilities in a fast-paced environment. You will lead subsystem and system-level validation tests for new releases, interfacing with electrical, mechanical, software, and controls teams.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in engineering or physics and 3+ years of test experience, with programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C++.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience designing and executing tests in industrial or academic environments.
• Proficiency in programming with Python, MATLAB, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on work and collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot, retrofit, and operate Linear Generator test units.
• Design and execute experiments to inform product design and steer R&D projects.
• Analyze data, generate reports, and communicate results to engineering teams.
• Manage test priorities daily to meet deadlines and maximize throughput.
• Develop and improve processes and infrastructure to support testing of next-generation products.
