Job summary

Mainspring Energy, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own defined-scope mechanical tasks for our Linear Generator platform.

You will design mechanical hardware, support analysis and testing, and drive validation and release while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, test, and service teams. The right candidate has hands-on experience across design, analysis, and testing, can independently own projects, and communicates clearly.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing, analyzing, testing, and iterating mechanical hardware through multiple cycles.
• Ability to independently own defined-scope engineering work with clear deliverables and risk management.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanisms, thermal, fluid, packaging, and structures.
• Ability to document decisions, risks, test results, and project status for stakeholders.
• Experience with CAD tools, drawing release, and supplier participation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own defined-scope mechanical engineering tasks or moderate-complexity projects.
• Design moderately complex parts, assemblies, fixtures, or subsystems with manufacturability and reliability in mind.
• Use calculations, simulations, tests, and data to validate designs and guide improvements.
• Develop and execute test plans, interpret results, and document findings for release decisions.
• Track deliverables and dependencies; communicate blockers early.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service teams to move projects forward.
