Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking an autonomous Electrical Engineer, Electronics Design to own end-to-end hardware and PCBA development for the Linear Generator, working across cross-functional teams to drive designs from concept to production.

You will lead bring-up, validation, and design reviews, tackle complex diagnostics, and collaborate with reliability, NPI, and supplier teams. This hybrid role is based at the Menlo Park HQ with on-site testing and possible remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years' experience or Master's with 1+ year.
• Hands-on experience designing and debugging low-voltage hardware (<60V) such as DC/DC converters and MOSFETs.
• Strong PCBA schematic capture and PCB tooling experience, preferably Altium.
• Strong analog/mixed-signal fundamentals with ADCs and op-amps.
• Experience with DFMEA and design for reliability.
• Ability to drive projects from requirements to production and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design low-voltage hardware and PCBA for the Linear Generator.
• Own bring-up, validation, and qualification of hardware.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews for requirements alignment.
• Debug complex hardware issues across field, labs, and production.
• Improve system reliability with collaboration with reliability engineers.
• Collaborate with NPI and suppliers for DFM/DFT.
• Interface with high-voltage teams for cabling and firmware support.
• Mentor peers and contribute to team growth.
