Job summary

Mainspring Energy is hiring a Reliability Engineer to strengthen its validation of the Linear Generators. You will conduct mechanical and electrical testing, perform failure analyses, and drive risk reduction with cross-functional teams across design, R&D and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience with testing for mechanical, electrical or electromechanical systems with emphasis on reliability; 5+ years with a masters.
• Experience in a dynamic engineering environment with evolving systems and processes.
• Proven ability to lead reliability initiatives from conception to completion and mentor small teams.
• Ability to execute multi-system engineering projects and use FMEA.
• Ability to set up and automate repetitive testing operations.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills using Python, MATLAB, Weibull++ or JMP.

Responsibilities

• Perform reliability testing including mechanical stress tests, shock, vibration and environmental testing.
• Prepare concise and detailed test plans and reports.
• Conduct failure analysis to derive root cause.
• Direct and develop design engineers in product performance risk analysis.
• Lead cross-functional teams in FMEA for design, process and maintenance.
• Develop verification test plans with design engineers based on system specs.
• Design, build and run specialized test equipment for rapid design cycles.
• Guide cross-functional design teams for electrical & fuel system component excellence.
