Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking an R&D Electrical Technician with hands-on experience in electrical fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting. You will work on high voltage equipment in an R&D setting, ensuring safety and reliability while collaborating with electrical engineers.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of electro-mechanical experience, uses hand tools proficiently, and can document findings clearly. This onsite role supports our Menlo Park HQ and related operations.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years electro-mechanical technician experience.
• Hands-on ability to visually detect electrical defects/non-conformances and repair them fast.
• Experience using hand tools (drivers, saws, wire crimpers, etc.).
• Knowledge of technical computer systems (office suites, terminal/command line, managing files).
• Vocational certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Strong verbal & written communication in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport heavy electrical cables, conduit, and tools to/from job sites.
• Measure, cut, and pull heavy-duty electrical cables and wiring.
• Set up job sites, stage equipment, keep work areas clean and hazard-free.
• Repair and qualify electronics, inverters, load banks.
• Build enclosures for electrical power systems with engineers, following work instructions.
• Run software and set up hardware; use browser-based apps to test and troubleshoot with documentation.
