Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz USA, Inc. seeks a Technical Project Manager to lead R&D projects in our engineering organization. You will plan, coordinate, and drive development from idea through market launch, coordinating internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Engineering, 5+ years in project management, and RF/airborne domain experience. US citizenship for DoD clearance is required; Phoenix area preferred with flexibility for exceptional candidates.

• Education: B.S. in Engineering or a relevant technical degree.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in Project or Program Management. PMP certification is a plus.
• Domain Expertise: Experience in the specification and design of airborne products. Knowledge of RF engineering is a significant plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint) for high-level reporting and program planning.
• Partner Management: Proven track record of managing external technical partners, including tracking deliverables, ensuring process adherence, and quality control.
• Soft Skills: Highly organized and analytical with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage R&D projects from inception to completion, overseeing planning, execution and delivery.
• Lead and manage external subcontractors and vendors, ensuring technical deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
• Drive new product definition and development, from initial idea and research through design, testing, and market launch, ensuring seamless transitions between phases.
• Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, resources, and budgets, while monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary.
• Communicate project milestones, challenges, and strategic direction to stakeholders at all levels to ensure transparency, alignment and executive support.
• Conduct rigorous risk analysis to identify potential project bottlenecks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all R&D activities comply with internal processes, quality gates, and industry standards, while ensuring the proper documentation and protection of intellectual property.
• Establish and track KPIs to evaluate project success and drive continuous improvement.
