Job summary

Honeywell in Des Plaines, IL is seeking an R&D Tech II to support R&D by conducting experiments, analyzing data, and aiding new product development. You will report to the R&D Manager and work on-site in Des Plaines.

You will coordinate activities for pilot plants, collect and interpret data, ensure safety, update instructions, train shift technicians, and drive improvement projects across the group of pilot plants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in lab, manufacturing, or pilot plant environment.
• Ability to work on-site and follow HS&E policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead process safety modifications for pilot plants.
• Write and revise plant instructions for pilot plants.
• Create PI trends and monitoring tools for pilot plants.
• Occasionally climb ladders.
• Lift and handle bags and samples up to 35 lb.
• Handle hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
• Wear a full-face respirator.
• Comply with OSHA facial hair rules for respirator seal.
• Work first shift: Mon–Fri 6am–7am start; follow holiday schedule.
• Be available 24/7 for calls.
