Job summary

Boston Scientific in Maple Grove, MN is seeking an R&D Sustaining Engineering Intern to optimize and sustain commercial IVUS products used in interventional cardiology.

You will support design change activities, root cause analyses, and regulatory submissions while collaborating with project management, marketing, design assurance, manufacturing and regulatory affairs. This paid internship offers hands-on experience across lifecycle management of medical devices.

Qualifications

• Must graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
• Pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and Testing: Assist in design change activities to improve or maintain supply of commercial products including feasibility studies, test method development, and product testing.
• Problem-Solving and Compliance: Support investigations into failure modes, perform root cause analyses, and develop solutions to address technical challenges. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, marketing, design assurance, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful project execution.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review engineering documentation, including design change analysis, technical reports, design history files, and regulatory submissions. Present project updates and technical insights to engineers and managers.
