Job summary

Mesa Power Solutions is hiring an R&D Shop Manager to lead the development shop for engines, gensets, and distribution gear. You will mentor engineering technicians, manage budgets, and collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to drive product validation and commercialization.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership and hands-on experience in power generation, fabrication, testing, and New Product Introduction (NPI).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or related technical field from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of management or leadership experience.
• 5 years of experience related to fabrication, welding, engine development and/or repair, power generation development and/or repair.
• 3 years of experience with diesel engines, natural gas engines, power generation equipment, emissions systems, or engine testing facilities.
• 3 years of experience managing procurement of materials, tooling, capital equipment, and budgeting.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineering technicians, guiding project success and professional growth.
• Collaborate with management, project managers, logistics and other cross-functional departments toward commercialization goals.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reliability.
• Establish shop priorities and allocate personnel, equipment, and resources to meet milestones and deadlines.
• Support troubleshooting and resolving complex engineering challenges related to engines, generators, and testing.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture.
