Job summary

Mesa Power Solutions seeks an experienced R&D Shop Manager to lead the development shop, overseeing engine, genset, and distribution gear development from prototyping to validation. You will mentor technicians, manage budgets, and partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Project Management to ensure successful product development and commercialization.

The ideal candidate combines strong leadership with deep knowledge of power generation systems, fabrication, testing, and NPI,

Qualifications

4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or related technical field from an accredited university and/or 5+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
5 years of management or leadership experience.
5 years of experience related to fabrication, welding, engine development and/or repair, power generation development and/or repair.
Must fluently speak, write, and read in English.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor engineering technician teams to ensure project success and growth.
Collaborate with management, project managers, logistics and cross-functional teams to reach commercialization goals.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reliability.
Allocate personnel, equipment, and resources to meet project milestones and budgets, flagging risks.
Support troubleshooting of engines, generators, and testing challenges.
Maintain shop safety, compliance, and high-quality standards across all activities.
Oversee procurement and budgeting for materials, tooling, and external services.
Track project status and communicate risks and updates to stakeholders.
