Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking an experienced R&D Project Manager in Bland, VA, to lead technology and product development for dry-type transformers.

You will manage projects from concept to implementation, ensuring technical excellence, quality, and on-time delivery. Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and external partners, you will guide complex initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance, and influence future portfolio decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• Experience leading technical or product development projects using established project management methodologies and tools.
• Knowledge of transformer technology or electrical equipment design is advantageous.
• Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects focused on new technologies and product development for dry-type transformers.
• Drive project execution from planning through delivery, ensuring quality, timelines, and technical excellence.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives, milestones, and schedules.
• Develop and execute effective project communication and stakeholder engagement plans.
• Manage project changes and communicate impacts on scope, schedule, and budget.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, universities, and external partners to accelerate innovation.
• Support implementation of newly developed solutions in factories and customer delivery projects.
• Identify market needs and contribute to future portfolio and technology development strategies.
