Job summary

Plastipak is seeking an R&D Process Engineering Technician at our Jackson Center, OH center to operate equipment for development and testing of plastic containers and tooling. You will monitor production processes, adjust settings, and troubleshoot to sustain high quality standards.

Responsibilities include machine programming adjustments, mold changes scheduling, quality checks, preventive maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement with safety, reliability, and scrap reduction

Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on mechanical or process equipment experience.
Proficient with mechanical/electrical operation and maintenance.
Associates degree preferred in mechanical technology.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment to develop and test plastic containers and tooling.
Perform machine programming adjustments, heat controls, pressures and extrusion/hydraulic systems as needed.
Carry out quality checks and adjust processes to meet specifications.
Perform mold changes and setup to schedule, coordinating with production plans to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot mold problems and process issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Perform preventive maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, reliability, quality and scrap reduction.
