Qualifikationen

• Ability to work safely and independently with prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms.
• Strong microbiology and synthetic biology skills; sterile technique and cultivation.
• Basic lab quantitative and digital skills for assay design and data analysis.
• 12-week internship from May/June to August 2027 at Mason location.

Aufgaben

• Mine literature for genetic pathways and biosensors for chemical classes of interest.
• Use genetic engineering tools and analytical techniques to enable and quantify biomolecule production and biosensor function.
• Independently develop, execute, and analyze experiments to characterize engineered microbial systems.
• Explore automation of experiments to deliver outputs more quickly and reliably.
