Job summary

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to work safely with prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms.
• Strong microbiology and synthetic biology skills including sterile technique and microbial cultivation.

Responsibilities

• Mine literature for genetic pathways and biosensors for chemical classes of interest.
• Leverage genetic engineering tools and analytical techniques to enable, improve, and quantify biomolecule production and/or biosensor function.
• Independently develop, execute, and analyze experiments to characterize engineered microbial systems.
• Aspirational: automate experiments to deliver outputs more quickly and reliably.
