Key Responsibilities

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Education: Working towards a PhD in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to work safely and independently with prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms.
• Excellent microbiology and synthetic biology skills (sterile technique, microbial cultivation, familiarity with common molecular biology tools).
• Basic laboratory quantitative and digital skills for assay design and analyses of results.
• Available to work a 12‑week internship from May/early June to August in the summer of 2027, working daily in office at Mason Business and Innovation Center.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing automated workflows for molecular biology.
• Hands‑on experience and independent proficiency in analytical chemistry and bioinformatics.
