BD in Sparks, Maryland is seeking a Scientist II – Microbiology to join our R&D Solutions Assurance team. You will contribute to the development and validation of cutting-edge microbiology and molecular diagnostic solutions, working on integrated systems such as BACTEC, Kiestra, COR, Phoenix, and the Synapsys Informatics Solution to advance patient care.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, or related field (required).
• 2+ years hands-on clinical microbiology lab experience (bacteriology) with familiarity in molecular technologies a plus.
• Solid understanding of clinical microbiology principles and practices.
• Strong lab skills: experimental design, data analysis, troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and databases.
• Experience with BACTEC, Kiestra, COR, Phoenix, MAX, SynapsysTM and similar diagnostic platforms is a plus.
• Experience with technical writing and validation documentation is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Apply clinical microbiology expertise to meet real-world customer needs.
• Design and execute laboratory experiments with minimal oversight to support product development and validation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Service to improve diagnostic solutions.
• Author and review technical documentation, including validation protocols.
• Support troubleshooting efforts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with advancements in clinical microbiology and related technologies.
