Job summary

BD is seeking a Scientist II to provide hands-on laboratory support for the Phoenix ID/AST product line, including broth manufacturing and raw material screening. You will troubleshoot, perform stability studies, document results, and collaborate with QA, R&D, and external vendors to drive product quality and process improvements.

You will design experiments, lead data analysis, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams while following GMP and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of BS/MS in microbiology, biochemistry or related science.
• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory and manufacturing/quality experience in Life Science or related discipline.
• Experience with microorganisms and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Design, execution, analysis and reporting of laboratory activities to screen raw material for future use in manufacture of AST broth.
• Design and performance of tasks for Phoenix broth problem resolution and formulation improvements.
• Coordinate testing priorities and report data to support root-cause assessment and product disposition.
• Lead projects or represent Operations on cross-functional teams.
• Interpret experimental results and present data to scientific peers orally or in writing.
