Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking an R&D Mechanical Technical Specialist to join a fast-moving robotics team. You will construct, operate, test, and troubleshoot mechanical systems in prototypes, with hands-on work on assemblies, actuators, gearboxes, and transmissions.

You will iterate designs with engineers while planning lab tooling and spaces to enable efficient development. You must thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, showing attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple work

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on mechanical experience
• Experience with prototyping and assembly of robotic systems
• CAD skills in Catia or SolidWorks

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex prototype mechanical assemblies for robotic systems.
• Create test plans and identify mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Design tooling and fixtures for assembly and test using CAD software.
• Plan lab space and equipment to support prototype development.
• Collaborate with design engineers to refine prototypes toward reproducible assemblies.
