Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead design and optimization of robotic subsystems for the Spot platform. You will drive architecture, CAD development, and transitions to production, while collaborating across electrical, operations, and manufacturing to meet demanding environments.

The role requires strong mechanical design expertise, CATIA proficiency, and experience from concept to high-volume production, along with excellent technical writing and project leadership.

Qualifications

• BSME and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience taking mechanical components from concept to mass production.

Responsibilities

• Own robot subsystems through architecture, development, and volume manufacturing.
• Develop production drawings, BOMs, and maintenance instructions.
• Plan and perform verification and validation on prototype and production systems.
• Contribute to design reviews and drive technical excellence.
