Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an R&D Manager to lead the Advanced and Exploratory Hypersonic Glide Body department, directing mechanical engineers and technicians on next-generation glide body designs for multiple customers.

You will manage remote staff in Huntsville and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, driving engineering, program execution, and security compliance to deliver innovative mechanical solutions. Some travel and onsite work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and eight years of directly relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineers and technicians in advanced glide body designs.
• Develop a broad understanding of hypersonic glide bodies and align with strategic pillars.
• Deliver mechanical products through innovation and development of designs.
• Build trust-based relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Travel may be required; work onsite.
• Ensure security for work within the department.
